SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE

CRINER-DANIELS & ASSOCIATES, INC. is a Houston, Texas based computer services company established in 1978 providing data processing solutions for private businesses, education and government agencies. Our multi-level support organization of more than 300 associates and employees are strategically located to be dispatched geographically throughout the corporate structure to provide support as needed.

CRINER-DANIELS is currently providing computer training, project management, consulting support services and network support to many ISD's throughout the states of Texas, Missouri and Pennsylvania.

CRINER-DANIELS has provided consulting services to the National Science Foundation (NSF) on the use of computers in an educational environment dating back to 1976. Our founder, Mr. Walter H. Criner, was a member of the Design & Development team of the very first computer based education system (CDC PLATO 1972-1985).

The staff of CRINER-DANIELS brings together over 60 years experience in designing and delivering customized computer software programming & training. We have built and maintained a global network of Programmer/Network Engineer & Consultant resources which allows us to cover a comprehensive range of software design, development, Local Area & Wide Area Networks, consulting services and training. It is this experience which enables us to secure the best personnel for each particular program, offer a variety of solution options and follow through with delivery and scheduling that will meet all your expectations. The following are examples of a few of CRINER-DANIELS' projects:

Hardware Maintenance

Designed a maintenance program for a major engineering firm resulting in greater flexibility and cost savings for over 700 personal computers used in the nation's space program.

Consulting Services

Evaluation of existing computer environmental/departments and recommendation for optimization and enhancement for a Southwestern College and school districts in Texas and Missouri.

Survey of management and use requirements from all departments within a large pipeline company to assist Purchasing/Procurement in automating their processes for securing and evaluating needed services.

Retainer services in all aspects of data processing for small companies without sufficient data processing staff.

Project Management

CRINER-DANIELS & ASSOCIATES, INC., has provided Project Management support to a State of Texas agency in their technical support of 56 school districts, 52,000 teachers, 3,000 school administrators and 760,000 students. Thirteen (13) school districts have moved to the client server environment during an 18 month period. We are assisting another school district to move to the client server environments as well. Our experiences have run the gambit from installation of hardware and software at the campus level, to evaluation of a total District computer environment.

Capacity Planning and Performance

Our services includes the definition of the assumptions underlying the upgrade, replacement, performance, and life of the existing computer processor, planning and information gathering, capacity model construction, capacity model calibration, capacity forecasting, and the reporting of results and recommendations for local, state and federal governments, as well as the education, aerospace, and oil and gas industries.

Local Area Network & Wide Area Network

We have provided design through installation support for LAN & WAN networks and the integration of them into an overall information system architecture. This support has been provided to school districts and private industries.

Software Development

Analysis, design and development of a Mainframe-to-PC program to calculate the average cost of a commodity, evaluate current and future effects to this cost based on forecasted costs and volumes, and provide a model for forecasted costs and volumes, and a model for optimizing these costs based on test cases varying costs and volumes. The project, which was completed in 1985 for a $12 Billion Houston-based oil and gas company, has been used continuously with dramatic increases in speed and accuracy over their previous system.

Analysis, design, and development of an automated process for purchase requisitions leading to the generation of a purchase order and the capture of archival information on commodities, pricing, vendors, receiving, and buyer information.

Contract Programmers

Design, development, and maintenance of computer programs and systems for some Texas State agencies and major corporations resulting in great flexibility and cost savings in both the mainframe and personal computer arena.

User Documentation/Tech-Writing

Training manual for a chemical manufacturer designed in a modular format for use in three separate courses. Manual developed in customer's specified word processing format and delivered with diskettes allowing easy future updates by customer.

User manuals and operations guides are an integral part of all CRINER-DANIELS' software development and are uniquely designed for each project.

Training

Design and delivery of a complete curriculum for IMB's MVS/SP and MVS/XA Operating Systems for a Houston-based oil company. The seven-week curriculum has been delivered six times in the past two years with extremely high student evaluations.

Design and delivery of a career retaining program for a major aerospace manufacturer. A total of 265 courses were taught across the country for over twenty-eight months. The program was rated "outstanding" with a "high rate of return on the training investment".

Design of a "substitute teacher" program to deliver 219 days of data processing training utilizing customer-developed courseware and facilities.

Courseware Development

Designed, developed, and delivered a course to teach laboratory technicians how to process sample data into computerized reports available to management. Documentation included a complete user manual for the customer-developed software program, as well as the course handout and instructor materials.

Designed a training program for Human Resource professions on planning and conducting effective meetings resulting in savings in both time management and labor costs, as well as increased efficiency in the proposal preparation process.
